Geography ClubGeog Club Forest Service Award

Geography Club is an active student group that plans hikes, camping trips, and other fieldtrips; they organize events for Geography Awareness Week each Fall and for Geography Spring Poster Session.

Gamma Theta Upsilon

Gamma Theta Upsilon (GTU) is an international honor society in geography. Gamma Theta Upsilon was founded on May 15, 1928 and became a national organization on May 15, 1931. In January 1969, GTU became an International Geographical Honors Society. The local chapter, Lambda, was founded in 1936. Members of GTU have met academic requirements and share a background and interest in geography. GTU chapter activities support geography knowledge and awareness.

EcoDawgs

EcoDawgs is a student organization focusing on environmental issues.

SIU L.O.G.I.C.

The Local Organic Garden Initiative of Carbondale. Maintaining a garden requires some work so we need your help! If you are interested in lending a hand, if even for one day, contact us or just show up to a designated meeting or workday outlined on our calendar.

SIUC Environmental Coalition

The Environmental Coalition is a group of ten RSO student organizations “oriented towards environmentally sound practices, social justice, and n overall approach to a sustainable society.” 

SIU Sustainability

Southern Illinois University is committed to sustainability. The SIUC Sustainability Council, comprised of faculty, staff, and students, believes that institutes of higher education should be "ecologically sound, socially just and economically viable," allowing students a healthy environment to live and learn.
